HTC Rose gets FCC treatment, US HTC S740

by Nick Marshall

Back in July we first saw the mysterious HTC Rose100 appear on the Bluetooth SIG website.  At that time all we knew was that availability included Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North American and South America.  Now the HTC Rose100 has made an appearance on the FCC database, showing off some interesting details.  Contrary to our initial opinion that the Rose100 would be another version of the HTC Touch Diamond, we now believe it will be a North American version of the HTC S740.

Under the confidentiality agreement we will not see external photos for quite some time, but with a bit of digging we have been able to uncover the following details.  According to the FCC ID, the Rose100 is the NM8RSM.  The Rose110, is the non US version of the HTC S740 which is 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3mm and 140grams in weight.  The screen is listed at 2.4 inch QVGA resolution with W-CDMA/HSDPA (7.2 Mbps), Bluetooth, WiFi and running Windows Mobile Standard.  The device features the Qualcomm MSM7225 (528 MHz processor), 256MB ROM 256MB RAM, and has a 1000 mAh battery.  At this point we can only hope the Rose100 ends up being the US 3G version of the S740, but based on our research it is highly probable.
