It looks like Nokia will not be filling our stockings with the 5800 XpressMusic as Santa Claus will only be coming to seven countries this year. According to Reuters, the first touch-screen phone from the world’s top mobile phone maker will go on sale in India, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Russia and Spain by year-end. With analysts ambitiously predicting Nokia to sell at least 10 million touchscreen phones by the end of 2009, missing this holiday season in much of Europe and entirely in North and South America is a serious decision.

“The phone is competitively priced and Nokia’s competitive advantage is in emerging markets. When putting two and two together it’s logical they start the roll-out from emerging markets,” said analyst Neil Mawston from Strategy Analytics.
