Samsung Instinct (M800) Firmware Updates Web Browser

by Nick Marshall

The self proclaimed iPhone killer, the Instinct by Samsung (M800), has been issued a series of software updates over the past few weeks to update all of the software on the device.  The OTA updates should be automatically delivered to your Instinct if they have not arrived already or you have not forced the update by manually checking.  The success of the Instinct has also brought a bit of criticism, mainly the lack of MS Outlook Calendar support and secondly a bug-ridden web browser. The latter of which has now been the focus of the latest software update.  According to early reports, the web browser for the Samsung Instinct is now much faster and has improved page rendering along with a new feature that allows the user to toggle the browser controls, allowing for even more full-screen browsing.

We haven’t had a chance to test the update yet ourselves, but in case you are wondering whether your Instinct has been updated simply go to Menu > Settings > General and choose update.  If you are currently running BH29, you are already experiencing the latest software update in action.
