HTC Touch HD Not Coming to the U.S.

article Nick Marshall

Last night via Twitter, HTC announced that HTC America has no plans of launching the HTC Touch HD here in the States.  According to the HTC spokesperson, “sad news, US. we looked into it- by the time we could bring Touch HD to the states, it would be old news”. Nevertheless, it was also mentioned that HTC has “other cool stuff coming”.  The good news is that there are other devices coming, the bad news is that we have no idea which devices they are referring to other than the T-mobile G1.

So it looks like the U.S. will have to make due with the HTC Touch Diamond, Touch Pro and G1 for the near future.  We were really looking forward to seeing HTC’s first-ever 5 megapixel camera and feature-rich Touch HD in action.  Looks like we’ll have to settle for EDGE data speeds and pickup an unlocked version instead this holiday season when it releases in Europe.
