Motorola and Nokia Announce Launch Events 10/13 and 10/14

by Nick Marshall

The big 2, Nokia and Motorola, both have big announcements coming this week and as usual we’ll be on hand for the festivities.  Nokia will start the week off Monday, October 13th, with their new teaser website ‘Somebody Else’s Phone’ which promises to unveil a new device at 8PM Monday evening.  On the website is a picture of the Nokia 7610 Supernova with a countdown leading up to the event, but the real question is why is a phone released back in June being used as the countdown meter?  Details are a bit sketchy on the Nokia event, but what we can tell you is that the entire campaign is focused on the phrase “my phone knows everything about me”.

The second event is held by Motorola via a ‘virtual media briefing’ which we have also been invited to attend.  The details are a bit sketchy on this one as well, but we can tell you that the device will be full touchscreen and possibly a Verizon Wireless launch.  All rumors point towards the Motorola Krave ZN4, but we can neither confirm or deny this information at this time, we will all have to wait until Tuesday.  If the announcement is the Krave ZN4 headed for Verizon Wireless, it will be interesting to see how Motorola weathers the ‘Storm’.
