Talk about some bad news, Cnet is reporting that Sprint’s October 19th launch of the Sprint HTC Touch Pro is now delayed.  It looks like Sprint and HTC are taking a page from the At&t BlackBerry Bold playbook.  According to Cnet, they contacted Sprint earlier today to check in to see about getting a review unit and received the following statement:

htctouchpro Sprint HTC Touch Pro release date delayed late October early November“Sprint expects to slightly delay launch of the Touch Pro by HTC to ensure we have adequate inventory in all channels before making the device commercially available. Customers can expect the device to become available in select national retailers by the end of the month and then in all Sprint sales channels including online at www.sprint.com and Sprint Stores by early November.”

Well there you have it boys and girls, it looks like our day is completely ruined.  We were really hoping to get our hands on the Touch Pro in the next few days, but apparently that is no longer a possibility.  We will cross our fingers and hope that Sprint retracts their statement on the release date, but until then you can put your credit cards back in your wallet.

called the sprint store on 5th ave in NYC and yes the date has been pushed back.
    it’ll be $399 out of pocket, with a 2yr agreement plus $100 mail-in rebate.
