walmart iphone 225x300 Walmart begins iPhone 3G advertising campaign earlyThis holiday season the iPhone 3G is set to take over the nation’s largest discount retailer, Walmart.  With a nationwide launch hitting 488 stores, the iPhone 3G is set to break sales records across the board.  While most of these 488 stores will begin selling the iPhone 3G at 9AM on December 28th, a few stores currently taking part in an employee trial program have already kicked off their iPhone 3G advertising a couple weeks early.  Now if only the rumored $99 price point proved true for the mythical 4GB iPhone 3G then we’d really be in business here folks.  Since the discount has been reduced to $2 dollars on the 8GB and 16GB models it will be very interesting to see if the device surpasses sales expectations or if carrier coverage and monthly service fees ultimate dictate the device’s success.  In any event be on the lookout for the iPhone 3G advertising coming to a Walmart in your neck of the woods.
