HTC Touch HD lacks compatible US 3G bands

by Nick Marshall

croppercapture16 300x282 HTC Touch HD lacks compatible US 3G bandsThe power of the Internet has been demonstrated once again thanks to a leaked HTC Touch HD manual which outlines HSDPA/UMTS support for the 850 and 1900MHz bands needed for At&t’s 3G network.  Unfortunately ladies and gentlemen this manual is completely innaccurate and as we’ve already been told by HTC, the Touch HD will not be offered in the US with 3G support.  Somehow there was a mixup on HTC’s end and the manual was published without a proper proof reading and as a result thousands of Touch HD hopefuls have just been robbed of their sanity.  The official word from HTC on this manual leak is as follows,

We were as surprised by these documents as you were. There are no plans to launch a version other than the 900/2100 model on the market today. Our belief is that since service manuals are not public facing documents, they are not fact checked with the same rigor as our product releases, but we are checking into how or why this information was included.
