Nokia 5800 XpressMusic US 3G Edition makes FCC Debut

screenhunter 01 dec 20 0855 247x300 Nokia 5800 XpressMusic US 3G Edition makes FCC DebutThe first-ever touchscreen device by Nokia, the 5800 XpressMusic, has just graced the FCC database complete with internal/external photos, full manual, and most importantly US-compatible 3G bands.  No surprise here, 3G support in the US is limited to 850 / 1900MHz and as T-mobile USA customers keep asking themselves where are the 1700 MHz 3G devices, At&t will be getting another taste of 3G Nokia goodness.  Now that US 3G support has been confirmed and we have the photos and test reports to prove it, we have to wonder how long until we start seeing At&t start to subsidize some of these devices.  We are far from Best Buy fans, but their ability to incorporate unlocked handset discounts on the E71, N95 and N96 should be an example for wireless carriers.  In the meantime, no word on a release date or price is available at this time, but as usual we will keep you in the loop and in the meantime start filling that piggy bank.
