Earlier today Telecom (Seychelles) Limited (Airtel) and Research in Motion (RIM) announced the launch of the BlackBerry Solution in Seychellas. At launch the BlackBerry Curve 8320 will be available, but unfortunately the lack of 3G support will not enable users to enjoy Telecom’s (Seychelles) large high-speed data footprint. Mark Guibert, Vice President of Corporate Marketing at RIM added, “It is with great pleasure that RIM is working with Airtel to introduce the BlackBerry solution in Seychelles. Millions of people around the world have chosen a BlackBerry smartphone to stay connected to colleagues, friends and family while they are on the move.” With a 55% market share of the mobile market in Seychelles, Telecom (Seychelles) Limited popularly known as “Airtel” should have no problem finding homes for the BlackBerry Curve. We’ve got a feeling a BlackBerry Bold launch might be coming in the near future for Airtel customers since Airtel is the first and the only operator to provide 3G mobile services in Seychelles. [RIM]
