With the Palm Pre counter rapidly ticking away, Samsung has decided to join the fun with their own self indulgent website ‘Unpacked‘.  According to the website members of the Media will be invited to ‘unpack’ the next Samsung Mobile at an exclusive launch event on June 15 in Singapore.  What is a launch party without prizes? Samsung will not disappoint and will offer a $5000 grand prize along with one lucky person revealing the phone to world at the Samsung Unpack launch event.

If June 15 sounds like too long to wait Samsung will begin revealing specs to this mysterious device starting June 5.  Also as each day ticks away a layer of the box holding the device will be revealed on the website, but I’m sure we’ll be able to figure this one out long before June 15.  At the moment the best guess is that the device is the Samsung I7500 Galaxy Android Smartphone, but a comparison between the image on the website and the FCC documents is a bit different.  If you still need a bit of motivation to check out Samsung’s website, each person that is selected to unpack a layer of the box will win a Samsung mobile phone in the process.
