The outrage over the early upgrade price of the iPhone 3G S on At&t is small potatoes in comparison to the death blow dealt to iPhone lovers in Italy today. According to an internal memo leaked from Vodafone Italy, the 32GB version of the iPhone 3G S will be 719 EUR and the 16GB model will be 619 EUR. Of course these prices are for contract-free handsets, but even so the price tags are outrageous. In case you don’t frequent Europe too often I’ll put this into perspective very quickly, 719 EUR is about $1000 USD.
