The ultimate solution for in-car navigation has officially come to the iPhone 3G and 3GS, introducing TomTom for iPhone. For just $99.99 you can be on your way to enjoying TomTom’s award-winning navigation technology, always have the fastest route with IQ Routes and all in a familiar front-end software application designed and optimized for the iPhone. Unfortunately the software is not designed for the original iPhone so only 3G and 3GS users should consider ponying up for the hefty $99.99 price tag.
What might even be more shocking than the price tag is that TomTom’s iPhone App is not even close to the most expensive application for the iPhone. I guess we can consider this a constellation prize when we make our purchase later today, but on the plus side at least we no longer need two devices. The TomTom iPhone software is currently available in the App Store in four different flavors: TomTom Australia ($79.99), TomTom New Zealand ($94.99), TomTom US & Canada ($99.99) and TomTom Western Europe ($139.99). We’ve been told additional releases will follow, but we are impressed at the initial rollout. If you decide to go ahead and make that big purchase today go ahead and leave us some comments on your thoughts on the software.
