There have been two important findings besides the bug fixes and improvements in iPhone OS 3.1.  First, effective immediately any jailbroken iPhone or iPod is now crippled with any software/apps you’ve installed on your own removed.  The Dev Team is working hard on a new app to jailbreak version 3.1, but no word on an expected release date has been announced at the time of this post.

Second, iTunes has once again disabled the un-authorized syncing of the Palm Pre with the release of iTunes 9.  With the Palm Pixi also claiming iTunes synchronization we wouldn’t be surprised if Palm issues an update that enables full functionality with iTunes within a matter of days.  In the meantime just be cautious of updating your current version of iTunes if you would like to continue syncing your Palm Pre seamlessly.
