What you need to know about the Motorola CLIQ: Hands-on Gallery

Our friends over at Engadget had a chance to play around with the recently announced Motorola CLIQ, the company’s first Android-powered smartphone and also their first device to feature MOTOBLUR. From the looks of things this device might be exactly what Motorola needed to rejuvenate their ailing wireless division and set the company back on track for mobile nirvana. Unfortunately we have not had our own chance to play around with the CLIQ but we trust the early reports which suggest that the “UI is definitely faster than any factory ROM we’ve used before on any Android device. A good test of this is to quickly swipe open the app drawer — the action’s smooth on the CLIQ, whereas most Magic ROMs would stutter.”

If that wasn’t enough to get your attention then those of you who live for keyboards on your smartphones and have not picked up the HTC Magic (myTouch 3G) will be happy to know that “the keyboard feels great. Truly stellar, actually — and we don’t think there’s much room for complaints about layout, unless you’re really into the dedicated horizontal number row.”  For a lot more about how solid the Motorola CLIQ is and a full photo gallery head on over to Engadget here.
