Cnet confirms Windows Mobile 6.5 Worldwide Release Date is October 6

All of you Touch Pro2 owners out there itching for a taste of official Windows Mobile 6.5 goodness could be as close to 3 weeks from and update.  According to Cnet writer Ina Fried, Microsoft will launch Windows Mobile 6.5 worldwide on October 6 and this will include phones from Verizon Wireless, Sprint and At&t here in the U.S.. The October 6 launch ties in with a “consumer open house” event that Microsoft Entertainment and Devices President Robbie Bach is hosting that day in New York City.  An official list of all the devices that will be updated to Windows Mobile 6.5 is not available at this time, but we can expect that carriers worldwide will begin issues press releases outlining the 6.5 update process soon.
