iPhone 3GS owners looking to jailbreak their phone (don’t upgrade to OS 3.1) please move along because the following information only pertains to original iPhone owners, iPhone 3G or first-generation iPod Touch owners. The DevTeam has once again released an updated version of their Pwnage Tool, this time in the 3.1 flavor, capable of unlocking and jailbreaking your device allowing you to reak havoc without Apple’s consent. With the ability to install custom firmware packages in Pwnage Tool 3.1, you can once again begin using ‘other’ carrier’s SIM cards so the ball and chain from At&t is over for some. So why is the new iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS not supported with Pwnage Tool 3.1? According to the DevTeam, Apple is making it increasingly difficult to hack the iPhone 3GS and the second-gen iPod Touch (just announced last week).
