Yesterday we saw Eric Schmidt holding the Verizon Wireless HTC Hero in press shots from the Associated Press, but what was the second device in the picture. Upon closer inspection that second device has been confirmed to be the Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid, formerly known as the Sholes or Tao.  Sure we knew the device was coming and we’ve seen leaked photos in the past, but seeing a Verizon exec posing for the camera while holding the first VZW Android handset is priceless.  Unfortunately not all is well with the Motorola Droid as it seems that the device is not running MOTOBLUR like the Motorola CLIQ.  Instead you can expect the traditional menu we’ve seen on the T-mobile G1, but that’s not too shabby since the G1 is still my favorite Android device to date.
