We figured at least a few of you out there will end up buying the Giorgio Armani-Samsung smartphone so we’ve gathered up the full spec list and located another press-worthy photo for your viewing pleasure. I must warn you that the device will only be sold in Italy, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Russia, China, and the UAE (Dubai), so you’ll need to make arrangement in order to track down a unit if you live outside those regions.
The Giorgio Armani-Samsung smartphone features tri-band 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA connectivity on 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz bands. It also features quad-band GPRS / EDGE (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) so you will have data and voice anywhere GSM networks are offered. The camera on the Armani smartphone is 5-megapixels and features autofocus so expect to be taking primarily day shots. The screen is the real gem of this device thanks to a 3.5-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) AMOLED screen which is 2.5 times the screen resolution of the Apple iPhone (320 x 480 pixel). When it comes to audio and video formats the device has native support for SP-Midi, SMAF, MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, H.263, MPEG4, WAV, MMV, DivX, XviD.
GPS navigation is handled via A-GPS which is sufficient, but not usually our preference on a high-end smartphone. Internally the Armani smartphone features 8GB of storage, but also offers a microSD external slot which allows up to 32GB high-capacity cards. Since the device runs Windows Mobile 6.5 it also comes pre-installed with Opera browser 9.5, Online Widgets, Mobile SNS and MS Office. When you run out of music to listen to with your internal storage, a FM radio has been included to keep you busy. The official dimensions of the device are 118.5 x 58.3 x 16.4 mm and weight is 164g. To keep up with all power demands, Samsung has included a 1500mAh battery which is among the largest offered as a standard battery.
Now for the official statement from Giorgio Armani, President and CEO of Giorgio Armani S.p.A.:
