We all know that the follow up to the BlackBerry Storm, the Storm 2, is approaching a launch on Verizon Wireless. Today Verizon’s CEO, Lowell McAdam, was seen flaunting the device around New York City and specifically at NYU. McAdam apparently decided that the best judge of character for the second-generation Storm would be NYU students. The New York Times reported that after showing the students the Storm 2 he had this to say,
“I let them play with the second-generation Storm device,” he said. “They came back and said ‘Oh, my gosh.’ They were very excited. This is what they hoped the original Storm should be.”
For both Verizon and RIM’s sake we hope the Storm 2 delivers. We wanted to stand behind the original Storm and while we were impressed by the build quality, the click-able touchscreen just didn’t do it for us. Regardless of how we feel about the device, this news is just one more sign that the Storm is almost upon us.
