Motorola Droid appears on FCC, release date eminent

The latest piece of the Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid puzzle has just been put in place as the device has been approved by the FCC.  Over on the FCC website our friends at Androphones have been keeping their eyes peeled for news of the Droid and on Friday we received a wonderful gift.  Curiously the device is still being referred to as the ‘Sholes’ with the FCC documents, but like most carrier-branded devices we’re sure Verizon will put on the finishing touches at launch.  Now that the FCC is out of the way and we know Verizon’s Android marketing campaign kicks off in just under 90 minutes the Android fever can officially begin, play ball.
