We don’t blame Windows Mobile users from wanting their HTC Touch HD’s to be running Android, we surely do. In the latest porting effort, Alpha 0.2, the Android project seems to be coming closer to their goal of delivering a fully functioning Android 1.5 build to the Touch HD. Those of you who do not like to live vicariously can take the plunge by installing the port on your own devices. Simply grab an empty SD card, extract all the files of the archive to the root of the SD Card and run haret.exe to be on your way to Android on the Touch HD.

I’ve tried Android 1.6 in my HD . Apart from some minor glitches, the OS runs smoothly. The funny thing is that the mobile conversations “sound” better while running Android.
