In our latest showdown between the flagship Nokia N series products we take a look at the previous generation 5-megapixel Nokia N82 versus the current generation 8-megapixel Nokia N86. Does the boost in 3-megapixels really make a world of difference when we are talking about camera phones. A key area to keep in mind when comparing these two devices is the N82 features a Xenon flash (which we loved) while the newer N86 has a dual-LED flash, a wide-angle lens and a better aperture size for night shots.
In the end as expected it was not so much the difference in megapixels as it was the improved technology. Both phones offer excellent image quality and most of us would be happy with either device in our pocket, but the Panorama built-in mode, face detection and improved camera performance simply help the N86 take the cake.
