We love a good rumor, especially when it involved a yet-to-be announced 3rd generation handset for a product line that is still on it’s first generation in the U.S.. Such is the plight of the American smartphone user, but for the rest of the world I am happy to announce that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 codename Rachael, will be released sometime in January 2010. Along with the first hands-on photo (seen above) and a rumored release date, 4pda.info has also leaked an unconfirmed spec list which tells us that the X3 will run Andriod 2.0 just like the Motorola Droid coming to Verizon Wireless. The X3 will feature the Snapdragon chipset, powered by a 1GHz processor, and feature an 8.1-megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4.0-inch WVGA touchscreen and be available in two colors: Sensuous Black and Luster White.
