At&t announces the BlackBerry Bold 9700 as promised

Just as expected, At&t has made the BlackBerry Bold 9700 (Bold 2) official this afternoon thanks to the usual PR campaign in their Media Newsroom.  All of the usual suspects were announced, the 624 MHz processor, BlackBerry OS v5.0, 256MB of Flash Memory, 3.2-megapixel camera and A-GPS.  They’ve also launched the official Bold 9700 website (http://www.att.com/BlackBerryBold9700) where you can sign up for updates on the device and be among the first to know when it is available.  The device will set you back $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate on a 2-year service agreement and will require the purchase of a monthly data plan.  As far as a release date goes At&t says the device will be available “in the coming weeks”, so as we told you previously expect the device by late November.
