We sure remember using a Casio Calculator and even the Casio Calculator Watch, but Casio making a camera phone? Apparently the electronics manufacturer has been up to a lot more than their Exilim digital cameras as of late. In a press event today in Japan, Casio and KDDI Corp showed off their 12.1-megapixel CA003 (Keitai) and the 8-megapixel CA004 as part of an announcement that included a total of 13 new model au brand mobile phones. Beyond the 12.1-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and 28mm wide-angle lens, the CA003 (Keitai) features a 3.3-inch OLED WVGA screen, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio and microSD card slot. It features a nifty hinge that allows the screen to fold open as well as rotate 90 degrees in each direction. The second device, the 8-megapixel CA004, is being pitched as the lower-end version since it features a 3.1-inch OLED screen with WVGA resolution but only supports microSD cards up to 2GB. Other than the limitation in the microSD slot for the CA004, the remaining specs are the same.
