Hands-on with the ultra-thin Toshiba TG01 Windows Phone

Even the iPhone 3GS has room to improve when compared to the 9.9mm thickness and 4.1-inch WVGA display of the Toshiba TG01.  This ultra-thin Windows Phone is powered by a 1GHz CPU (Qualcomm QSD8250) and takes a page from the technology used in the Toshiba’s REGZA’s TV line.  The only glaring weakness we can find on the device, if you can call it a weakness, is that it only offers a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus which by industry standards is on the low end of the scale.  Other than that the device looks to be prime real estate for the Windows Mobile landscape, shipping with Windows Mobile 6.1, and scheduled to be updated to Windows Mobile 6.5 very soon.  With support for memory cards up to 32GB in size, 256MB RAM/ 512MB ROM on board, A-GPS and GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi b/g, quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and single-band UMTS 2100MHz.  Thanks to our friends at eprice we are pleased to bring you the hands-on photo gallery for the Toshiba TG01 Windows Phone.  Now if we could only port Android 2.0 to this device and add US 3G bands we’d really be in heaven.
