Acer Liquid will feature Snapdragon clocked at 768MHz

This morning Acer held a conference to introduce its first Android smartphone, the Acer Liquid.  The Liquid has been all over the headlines in the mobile news world because it will feature the Snapdragon chipset running ontop of Android 1.6 (Donut).  This combination of hardware and software alone is enough to make gadget geeks like ourselves ready to fall head over heels for a chance to see the device in action.  Unfortunately our friends at Revioo were able to attend the Acer conference today and confirmed to us that the Snapdragon chipset on the Acer Liquid has been clocked at 768MHz and not 1GHz like we’ve seen on the HTC HD2.  On the plus side Acer did confirm that the Liquid will receive the Android 2.0 software update but we would much rather stick with Android 1.6 if it means 1GHz of processing power.
