The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (Rachael) has just been confirmed for an early 2010 release complete with Android and the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor. The device will feature a scratch-resistant OLED display measuring 4-inches, 854 x 480 pixels and 26 million colors with touch operation and handwriting input. When it comes to networks, the X10 packs GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS (3G) 900/1700/2100 support. On the back of the device is a 8.1-megapixel camera with autofocus, touch focus, smile shutter, 16x digital zoom, smart AI shooting modes, GPS photo tagging and an LED flash. Music lovers will be happy to note that the standardized 3.5mm headphone jack is in tote alone with A2DP for Bluetooth stereo support. The one questionable area about the XPERIA X10 which we find alarming is that even with a 2010 release date, the device will ship with Android 1.6 (Donut). If a 2010 device ships with Android 1.6 what does this imply about current Android devices hoping to get the 2.0 upgrade?
