For those of you still wanting more information about the HTC Hero Software Enhancement to 1.56.651.2, here’s a quick rundown of what the update is intended to to improved: improvement to camera picture quality, DST (Daylight Savings Time) issue resolved, Unable to receive SMS due to full memory, Memory leak when Bluetooth is in connecting state, 3.5mm mono when not using headset with mic, and Dialer application causing excess battery draw.

MY Hero is working great. I really hve no problems since the update. I love the phone. This morning the phone is at 12% Awake Time.
This update cause my headphone jack to stop working automatically. Must have something to do with the mono/stereo fix.
When connecting headsets w/ microphone and regular headsets, it just didn’t work.
I had to download the toggleheadset widget (http://code.google.com/p/toggleheadset). Now I have to manually enable and disable it to use the headset with the widget. Oh year, and I have to turn it off to use the phone without the headset.
All autodetection is gone!
I did notice that during a call I now have a new mute and speaker on buttons available via touch, but they were there before via the menu.
THanks. Sean.
