We can’t say we didn’t see this one coming, but this morning Sony Ericsson made the Xperia X5 Pureness official.  Complete with a transparent screen that measures 1.8 inches, 3G connectivity, web browser, FM radio and a 12-month subscription to Quintessentially (a 24/7 personal concierge service), the Pureness is destined for high-fashion buyers. As befits its high-fashion persona, the Pureness is only available in Selfridges, and can be yours SIM-free for a one-off payment of £650 from the first week in December.

In case you thought Sony Ericsson was the first manufacturer to incorporate a transparent phone in their lineup, the LG Crystal debuted earlier this year with a transparent keypad.  However, to Sony Ericsson’s credit the Pureness is very fitting of the title “the concept phone of all concept phones” and a 24/7 concierge service doesn’t hurt either.
