If you have been in the market for an iPhone 3GS but the $199 price tag has you hesitant to pull the trigger a $49 refurbished 16GB iPhone 3GS might do the trick. Or at least that is what At&t is hoping thanks to their new lower price point and to sweeten the deal the carrier will even waive their normal $35 activation fee. At the moment the black model is out of stock so you’ll have to opt for the white model but at $49 you’ll be hard pressed to find someone willing to hear your sob story. If you do decide to pony down the money and commit yourself to the usual 2-year contract you should know that refurbished iPhones carry the same warranty as new units and if you do have an issue with your phone simply setup an appointment at your Local Apple Store for a painless exchange. Sure you might not be able to insure your device for serious damages or loss but after exchanging my iPhone 3GS twice over the last 3 months for no out of pocket cost, I can’t complain.
