Improving its mobile phone selection has been a key element to Boost Mobile’s growth strategy in 2009. Starting off the year with only three devices, Boost Mobile® has since added five new handsets to its line-up, including today’s launch of the Motorola i410, a classic flip phone suitable for consumers seeking an affordable, hassle-free and durable handset, and which is now available at all Boost Mobile Exclusive Retail Stores and select independent wireless dealer locations nationwide.
“The Motorola i410 is a sturdy device designed to deliver affordability and dependability to our consumers,” said Matt Carter, President, Boost Mobile.
Boost Mobile Phones: The Year in Review
Boost Mobile’s first new handset of 2009, the candybar-style Motorola i290, launched on January 22, 2009 in tandem with the breakthrough $50 Monthly Unlimited plan which offers unlimited nationwide talk, text, Web and Walkie-Talkie with no extra fees or additional telecom taxes.
In February, Boost Mobile introduced the glossy high-end Motorola Stature™ i9, a revolution in the iDEN portfolio. More than just good looks, the i9 is a multimedia powerhouse featuring a high-resolution exterior flip with touch-sensitive keys allowing quick access to multimedia content, a music player and integrated GPS, a 3.1 megapixel camera with zoom and flash, video camera and more. This popular feature-rich device was complemented with a fiery red color refresh in May.
June was a big month in Boost Mobile-branded handset news with the launch of its first-ever full keyboard QWERTY phone, the Motorola Clutch™ i465, which has starred in a number of Boost Mobile “Unwronged” TV commercials. For customers who enjoy texting as much as they enjoy talking, the i465 (available in graphite and maroon) has become one of Boost Mobile’s top-selling devices of 2009.
Kicking off the fall season in September, Boost Mobile announced another “first:” an iDEN slider phone. Cool and compact, the Motorola Debut™ i856 glides open and closed with ease for instant communication. A stylish female-friendly counterpart to the i856 was also announced two weeks ago.
“With the help from our partners like Motorola, we have accomplished our goal to bring more choice, affordability and quality to our customers.” added Carter. “But we’re not stopping here and look forward to continuing to announce products that we think our customers will respond to.”
