Video: Motorola Droid Android 2.0.1 Update

  • Share

If you didn’t take advantage of yesterday’s manual OTA update guide for the Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid, today I have recorded a video showing the official 2.0.1 Update being installed on the Motorola Droid.  I received the update early this morning and was presented with an onscreen notification (seen above).  The process was simple and straight forward, taking 5 minutes of my time to complete the entire process.  The rollout of the update was success and it looks like we will have no problem receiving future updates including the Android 2.1 update scheduled for January 2010.

In terms of actual performance changes there was a subtle change to the unlock screen in both design and font however I have not seen much improvement in the camera’s autofocus.  The camera does seem more responsive especially when using the flash, but the low-light test shots I’ve taken so far have not been quite as sharp as I was expecting.  I will be following up to my previous comparison showdown between the Droid, N97 and Tilt2 with some updated pictures taken from the Motorola Droid later this weekend.
