The latest update to Facebook for Android is looking to dethrone the iPhone App. Included in this major update that hit the marketplace this morning were a variety of improvements including the ability to browse friends’ profiles and photo albums natively inside the app instead of being kicked to the web browser. The biggest benefit of native profiles and photo albums is the ease at which you can now zoom and comment. Unfortunately you still can’t access your inbox to send or receive messages and Events aren’t supported. Keep in mind it took over a year before that integration came to the iPhone App and the original Facebook App for Android was only released in September. This is a huge step for Facebook and Android, and hopefully a sign of more improvements to come.
