It’s hard to stay ontop of all the developments, we understand you have a busy schedule and often it’s hard to keep up with the site.  Today we continue our weekly wrap up post with “This Week in Cell Phones Volume 2″ and if you are looking for an even quicker summary I’ll just say that this week was all about the Google Phone (Nexus One / HTC Dragon) coming to T-mobile.

Monday started the week off with a huge library of Google Phone photos.  We learned that the device is manufactured by HTC and it only runs on T-mobile USA’s 3G network.  We also learned that it runs Android OS 2.1 and that it will be released in January for as little as $199.99 unlocked.  Sony Ericsson added the Elm, Hazel and VH700 Bluetooth headset to their GreenHeart lineup, Nokia released firmware updates to the 5530 and N85, and the world’s first 4G LTE network went live in Stockholm.

Tuesday the FCC approved the Palm Pixi for Verizon Wireless and the device is reported to include WiFi unlike the Sprint version.  It is also expected that Verizon will release the Palm Pre early next year, bringing both webOS devices to the carrier’s lineup of smartphones.  Amazon finally rolled out the Kindle app for the iPhone and vowed to launch a version of BlackBerry smartphones and Mac computers in the near future.  We released a comparison chart explaining the differences between the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 and Pearl 8100, the N900 maxed out at 32 simultaneous apps running in the background, and the INQ Chat 3G got photographed.

Wednesday started with more FCC news, this time the Google Phone (Nexus One / HTC Dragon) was spotted.  This gave us secondary confirmation that the device supported T-mobile USA’s 3G network and also clarified that the Google Phone is not the HTC Bravo or HTC Passion coming to Verizon Wireless.  The first iDEN Android-powered device, the Motorola Opus One, was spotted on YouTube, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 is delayed until early January 2010, and CNET reviewed the LG Chocolate BL40, calling the device a “major disappointment”.

Thursday BlackBerry Messenger was updated to version 5.0.0.55 and Facebook for Android got a major facelift.  Vodafone confirmed the Nokia N900 would be released in January and not December as we previously speculated, TomTom dropped their iPhone app to $49.99 for US Customers, Android reached 20,000 apps and Verizon brought back the Droid Eris buy one get one free promotion.

Friday we started off the day by releasing our official review of the LG Chocolate Touch, Nokia announced that they would be launching a Nokia Conversations website for China, China Mobile added BlackBerry IM and Email Service and Sprint released the BlackBerry Curve 8530 and U301 USB 3G/4G modem.

This week was quite a busy week in the mobile community and as we get deeper into the holiday season you can expect Cellfanatic to bring you all the latest breaking news.  There are plenty ways to stay ontop of the site: follow us on Twitter, subscribe by Email, subscribe to RSS, watch our videos on YouTube or simply check out the Morning Mobile Minute or This Week in Cell Phone News summaries.

This is a great post! Even though I’m not a true fan of the iPhone this new HTC (iPhone competition) beast is very appealing. The release of the new BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) version was a great. Ever since the BBM 5.0 was released it’s been great, even though there were a few hiccups on the post released version.
