Apparently RIM believes that we need a $199.99 add-on that allows MS Power Point Presentations to be outputted from our BlackBerry smartphones directly to a monitor or projector. The BlackBerry Presenter is not exactly as innovative as LG’s eXpo pico projector demonstration, but maybe there is a market for such a device that we haven’t heard about. The underlying idea behind the BlackBerry Presenter is to make mobile presentations easier by taking the laptop out of the equation, but honestly at $199.99 I think I could live with the added bulk of carrying around a netbook and not be limited to just PowerPoint presentations. In any event for those interested in such a device, the BlackBerry Presenter outputs via S-video or VGA cables and is not supported by the BlackBerry Curve 8300 series or BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8200 smartphones. Also as usual you will need a computer running Windows XP or higher in order to upgrade the BlackBerry Presenter firmware along with BlackBerry Device Software v4.6 or higher.
