Multitouch on European Nexus One?

According to heise.de, the version of the Nexus One they demoed at CES 2010 last week featured multitouch support.  While using the default browser on the device they were able make use of the pinch-to-zoom functionality, leading to the claim that Vodafone’s Nexus One might include native multitouch support.  This would put North America in the exact same situation as the Motorola Droid, whose GSM variant the Motorola Milestone currently has multitouch enabled while here in the states we are left to double tap.  At this point the information remains a rumor until we start seeing some demo units of the Vodafone Nexus One ship out for review.  Otherwise we’ll all be waiting for Spring 2010 when the device sees an official Vodafone launch.

In other Nexus One news, many T-mobile users are reporting poor 3G signal and lack of Wireless N support.  According to Google’s Nexus One specifications, the device features wireless a / b / g / n support, but users with wireless N networks are not able to connect with that standard.  A bit of digging on HTC’s website reveals that only wireless b and g are listed as supported wireless standards and following this discovery it seems Google has modified their spec page to reflect the same result.  As far as the 3G signal issues go, iPhone users are probably celebrating a victory now they aren’t the only early adopters to suffer from a buggy first-gen radio.
