Fido customers currently using unlocked Rogers’ BlackBerry devices can soon rejoice. According to numerous tipsters over on HowardForums, the Fido BlackBerry Curve 8520 is set to launch sometime in Q1 2010. The SKU has been confirmed in the Fido system and the device will be available in Black upon launch, although other colors choices are entirely possible down the road. Rather than leaving any speculation in the matter let’s get the word direct from the horse’s mouth:
Fido will be launching the 8520 in Black. It will be part of the Q1 launch. No word on what date exactly, however the SKU has been loaded into the system.”
The Curve 8520 has been a long time in the making ever since Fido re-launched their BlackBerry lineup in February 2009. CrackBerry.com has also received numerous report that Fido will be getting the device and while an official announcement is always a safe bet, the information is really overwhelming at this point. We’ll update this post as information presents itself and hopefully we can lock down an exact release date for you guys very soon.
