A Nokia C6 with T-mobile friendly AWS 3G Bands has just made an appearance on the FCC website, hinting at an upcoming release date. The C6 packs a 3.2-inch HD touchscreen display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel camera, support for up to 16GB of storage and a FM stereo radio. Overall the only gripe we have with the C6 is that it runs Symbian S60 5th edition, but we imagine a large portion of the European market will find that refreshing.
This T-mobile USA version of the Nokia C6 is labeled C6-01, the 01 reference has long been the tall tell sign of a US launch. It features quadband GSM/EDGE and tri-band HSPA 850/1700-2100/1900 MHz. Unfortunately HSPA+ support was not listed so we don’t think you’ll be cruising the web with T-mobile’s self proclaimed 4G network when the device launches.
Update to specs: The Nokia C6-01 packs virtually the same feature set as the more expensive C7. You get an 8 megapixel camera (regrettably fixed-focus), capable of recording HD video, 680 MHz CPU with dedicated graphics accelerator and 256 MB of RAM. The C6-01 also features a 3.2” AMOLED display with ClearBlack screen technology.
