HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa announced: one-touch Facebook access in tow

At Mobile World Congress this morning, HTC started off the show with a set of blockbuster announcements. First on the agenda were two new Facebook-centric handsets, the HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa — both with dedicated Facebook buttons for one-touch access.

Powered by Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and the HTC Sense UI, Facebook has been completely integrated throughout the HTC Sense experience on both the ChaCha and Salsa. For instance, when you make a phone call, the dialer screen displays your friend’s latest status and photos and even tells you if their birthday is approaching.

The HTC ChaCha features a physical QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, a VGA resolution front-facing camera for video chat and a 3.4-inch 480 x 320 resolution touchscreen. The HTC Salsa features the same 5-megapixel camera, VGA front-facing camera, 3.4-inch 480 x 320 resolution touchscreen display, but drops the physical keyboard.
