1700Mhz

The future of T-mobile USA’s 3G network will rely heavily on the success of the HTC Dream / G1 / Google Phone according to many analysts.  In order to recover the costs of expanding the carrier’s network, the $200 Android-powered HTC Dream must sell well.  In order to meet these sales goals, T-mobile has continued to invest in their slowly expanding 3G network, doubling its size and approaching nationwide status.  T-mobile currently operates on the 1700MHz frequency with a very small 3G footprint in place.  With only 9 major cities currently offering 3G service in the US, T-mobile hopes to bring this number up to 27 by the end of the year.
