850w pics

The Palm Treo 800w coming to Sprint has been spotted, but now it’s time for the next generation to make its debut in a early spotting.  What you will notice about the Palm Treo 850w is that it relies heavily on the build and design of the Palm Centro with a nice refinement in style for the Windows Mobile environment.  With the call and end keys reduced in size, the center navigation wheel has 2 sets of buttons on each side for the start key and calendar key on the left and the OK button and mail button to the right.  This seems to be the ideal button arrangement to optimize the smaller dimensions of the device over the Palm Treo 800w.  With a cool black exterior, this shot alone is enough to convince us to skip the Palm Treo 800w and go straight for the 850w.

Similar to the Palm Treo 800w, the 850w runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and runs the newest and unreleased version of Internet Explorer.  The 850w runs off a 400MHz processor with 100MB of RAM available which solves any multitasking worries you might have about this WM device.  The best part about the device can be seen in the second photo below which shows the Blackberry 8800 series below the Palm Treo 850w.  The device is thin folks, and it is sexy which puts Palm back into the Smartphone game and should drive some serious competition for the Blackberry Bold 9000 Series set to release next month.  It looks like Palm has heard the cries from the users and realized it is about time they built upon the Centro and refined the dimensions and style for the WM marketplace.  Good job Palm.
