SK Telecom and RIM Launch BlackBerry Internet Service in Korea

SK Telecom and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today launched BlackBerry® Internet Service and the BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphone, targeting business customers and professionals in Korea. The smartphone and service will be available beginning tomorrow through select SK Telecom retail shops, as well as SK Telecom’s online store and authorized business partners.

BlackBerry Internet Service is a powerful and easy-to-use service that utilizes RIM’s highly regarded “push” technology to allow users to wirelessly access up to 10 supported POP3/IMAP email accounts.  Set up is easy and does not require IT support, making it an excellent option for business users and professionals who don’t have the need or the resources to manage a corporate email server. Together, the BlackBerry Bold smartphone and BlackBerry Internet Service offer a complete solution for a customer’s on-the-go communication needs.

The BlackBerry Bold smartphone also delivers excellent voice quality and includes many premium phone features as well as a built-in organizer (with calendar, address book, task list and memo pad applications) that can easily import contacts from popular desktop organizer applications.

Customers can subscribe to BlackBerry Internet Service for a monthly charge of KRW24,000*, which includes 30MB of data. Read More →
