The BlackBerry Pearl 8220, also known as the BlackBerry KickStart, is preparing for a launch on Canada’s Rogers Wireless very soon.  With an initial advertisement appearing in early August, news has been a little dormant recently on the first BlackBerry flip, but today we have just seen a second flyer makes its rounds to Rogers Wireless customers.  Several Rogers Wireless subscribers are reporting that they have received the following flyer which prices the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 KickStart at a $149 price point on a 3 year contract.

blackberry 8220 rogers Rogers Update: BlackBerry Pearl 8220 coming soon

While the introductory price of $149 on a 3 year contract seems a bit high, we expect to see significant price drops once the KickStart becomes widely available.  Unfortunately no release date information was given with the flyer and as usual Rogers Wireless is keeping their lips sealed on this one (yes, Expansys as well).

RIM Blackberry Kickstart details and specs

While the idea of RIM converting their devices into standard flip phone form is not in any way shape or form innovative, we like the idea of diversity.  The Blackberry Kickstart is focused on the ‘experience’ whether it is messaging, email or listening to music.  With the Blackberry 5.0 OS loaded on the Kickstart even [...]
