croppercapture151 300x186 BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 comes to Hong Kong via CSL’s 1O1O and one2freeThe first-ever BlackBerry clamshell form factor, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, has officially launched in Hong Kong thanks to a partnership between CSL Limited (CSL) and Research in Motion (RIM).  With CSL’s 1O1O and one2free being the leading mobile operator in Hong Kong it made sense to bring the Pearl Flip to the carrier, not to mention that their long-time partnership had already brought plenty of BlackBerry smartphones to the country.

“We are glad to work with CSL to bring this exciting new flip phone to customers in Hong Kong,” said Norm Lo, Vice President of Asia Pacific, Research In Motion. “BlackBerry smartphones have been very popular since first introduced in Hong Kong and the launch of the BlackBerry Pearl Flip will help expand the appeal of the BlackBerry platform to an even wider range of customers.”

As usual the quadband GPRS and EDGE Pearl Flip still packs the Speaker Independent Voice Recognition, Voice Activated Dialing, MP3 ringtone support, WiFi and 2.0-megapixel camera we’d expect.  The device is now available at 1O1O centres and one2free shops, but if you still need more information RIM has setup a website: http://www.blackberrypearlflip.com.hk

Rogers Wireless Announces BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Canadian Launch Parties

Just in time to join in on the fun with T-mobile USA, Rogers Wireless has announced the launch parties of the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. The parties will start with the September 23rd launch in Toronto followed by a September 25th launch in Montreal, a September 30th launch in Vancouver and finishes up with a October 2nd launch in Calgary. As expected, Rogers will hit their early October release date for the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 and soon the Flip will be taking Canada by storm.
