After some confusion over the the Press Release for the Samsung Instinct, we have some exciting news. Initially in the Press Release it states, “this device also provides support for corporate and consumer (POP3) email,” but after contacting Samsung we have conflicting information. The Samsung Instinct will support MS Exchange with email and contacts. The other details we have for you is that the OS is proprietary and a joint design between Samsung and Sprint and the format is Java over BREW. Now we just have to wait until June before we can have the final production unit in our hands and enjoy the Sprint iPhone killer in all its EVDO Rev A glory. Special thanks to MWW Group for Samsung Mobile for providing the juicy details.

Samsung Instinct (SCH-M800) Supports MS Exchange Email and Contacts

Hi Nick,

The Samsung Instinct will support Exchange with email and contacts. Also, the OS is proprietary, designed jointly by Samsung and Sprint. The format is Java over BREW. I hope this information helps.

Have a good one,
XXXXXXXX

With threaded SMS texting, visual voice mail and now MS Exchange support the Samsung Instinct is bringing some serious features to the table for Sprint. We are still waiting for confirmation from Sprint on whether or not the $99/month unlimited plan will be required in order to sign up for service with the Samsung Instinct. Until we hear confirmation, we will keep the unlimited plan information a rumor.
