iPhone 2.1 Software Update is now Live: Reception Fixed?

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines. The iPhone 2.1 Software Update is now live for both the iPhone and iPhone 3G directly through iTunes. When connecting our iPhone to the PC this morning we were greeted with the ‘a new iPhone software version (2.1) is available for the iPhone…” message and we proceeded to download and install the update. According to the release notes there are many improvements, many of which we previously announced after the Apple event this Tuesday.

Unlike the previous 2.0.2 update, we had no problems going through the install with 2.1. For the record we were using a Windows XP machine running iTunes 8.0. We downloaded the latest version of iTunes prior connecting the iPhone and checking for a software update (note: the iPhone did not detect a newer version of its software until we click check for update). The entire installation process took under 10 minutes and we we were up and running in no time.
