GSM Palm Pre WebOS 1.2 Update delayed until November

The GSM Palm Pre is just a couple weeks away from the October 13th and 16th release dates in Germany, Ireland and the UK.  Unfortunately our friends at PreCentral have just gotten word that the webOS 1.2 update that was released in the U.S. for the Sprint Palm Pre will not be coming to the GSM model until sometime in November.  According to their source, the GSM Pre (UMTS) will ship with webOS 1.1.2 and could require an update for 1.1.3 which is even worse than we initially expected.  This news is beginning to get the rumors to circulate among top forums where users are questioning whether Palm has the resources to issue worldwide webOS updates across different networks on the same day or if we’ll be seeing Windows Mobile style updates.  Hopefully this is not the case and the delay in the webOS 1.2 update is simply a matter of the device launch and insufficient time to compile the firmware for the GSM radios.
