by Nick Marshall on Sep 18, 2008 in AT&T, Apple, Apple iPhone, How To, brandnew
The promise of better reception, better battery life and overall performance boosts have left many iPhone owners sadly disappointed after the iPhone’s latest 2.1 software update. Unfortunately for many of you, us included, still suffer from poor reception, dropped calls and now GPS issues. Cellular GPS set to overshadow Stand-alone units in 2008
by Nick Marshall on Sep 08, 2008 in AT&T, Apple iPhone
GPS units are set to takeover the holiday season this year, but unlike last year, 2008 will put an interesting twist on the devicesbeing sold. In previous years, stand-alone units were the most popular devices purchased by consumers at Christmas time, but with the growing number of mainstream cell phones adding GPS and A-GPS support, the need for dedicated units is decreasing. Later this week the Apple iPhone 3G will add directional support for its GPS capabilities, bringing it one step closer to matching a mid-range stand-alone unit and many other devices already have this capability.

Fresh off the press from the NY Times, David Pogue has laid out his two cents on all things iPhone 3G which includes a few statement directly identifying iPhone 3G GPS limitations.
